A few months ago I heard Tim Ferriss mention he used his blog to test new ideas, get feedback on products and promote his projects. He also shares his research findings with his readers. I didn't really pay much attention to the concept because I haven't and have no desire to write a book. However, I came across this article about a blogging platform idea Kevin Rose had called Tiny and it got me thinking. When I wrote one of my earlier post on LinkedIn I realized how valuable having dialog around my ideas openly online could be for two reasons. The first was it forced me to identify a protocol for defending my ideas with those who aggressively disagree with me. Secondly it helped me broadened my thinking as others constructively debated and shared their opinions. I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize I could do this more often but I'm glad I finally did.
