I've been using Day One since August 9th 2012. For the most part I use it to jot down and organize my thoughts. I liked it because unlike Evernote which I use for research and storing ideas it was simple. Because I treated it more as a journal however I would end up only using in it when I had an extended period of time and something I thought was worth writing. As a result all my entries were memories written in hindsight as oppose to being written in the moment.
Last week I started writing in the moment and organizing my random, unfiltered thoughts using hashtags. My organized thoughts and reflections will still end up on Medium when I find the time to write but for now I enjoy this process a lot more.
